It’s not unexpected news that the Yarra Junior Football League called time on our season this week. While it’s a bit sad that it has all come to an end, we should look at the big positive– we got to play 10 out of 14 rounds this season!
We had 13 teams this season, including 1 new girls team, and 279 kids got to play footy. The ongoing growth of our club, after no 2020 season, and all this season’s uncertainties is a testament to the strong and supportive community we are all part of.
YJFL also announced that the top of the ladder teams will be confirmed as 2021 Premiers.
A massive congratulations to our TWO PREMIERSHIP teams:
* U11s Boys – coached by Mark Pietryk
* U12s Boys – coached by Jamie Saad
Recognition and thanks must go to the persistence and flexibility of our volunteers who made it all possible each weekend; all of the Committee, Coaches, Team Managers, Assistant Coaches, Runners, Goal and Boundary Umpires, Covid Officers, Umpire Escorts, Ground Managers and the multitude of other parents and volunteers involved that allow all of our kids to play some footy. The kids will probably never fully appreciate the time and effort you all put in, but we do – so thankyou on their behalf.
As a club, we will be hosting a Presentation Day which will also include our Auskick group. Our committee are working through different options (including dates) on how this day can be held in a covid safe manner. Further communications will be provided once we know the details.
Thanks again to everyone for their support.
