Thursday Girls Fundraiser

This week we kick off our annual fund-raising activities in support of the fabulous Thursday Girls and the wonderful work they do to assist women living with terminal breast cancer. Unfortunately, most Thursday Girl members are simply too sick to carry out any fund-raising activities and they don’t receive any Government funding. Therefore, we urge all MJFC families to get behind this worthy cause in support of our very own Thursday Girl, Marianne Foreman who was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast cancer back in 2018. The Foremans have been long time members of MJFC. Their eldest son Hamish played all his junior football with Macleod. Their youngest son Harry is now in his final year with the Colts, after also playing all his junior football with the club. Marianne has always been the first to volunteer for any job on game day, no matter how ill she is feeling, so now it’s our time to give back and show our support for this wonderful cause. What can you do to help?? Various activities are planned for the next few weeks. First up is our annual cake stall on Sunday 23rd July at Macleod Park, running from 10am until sold out.

We are requesting donations of homemade or store-bought baked goods. They can be dropped off at Macleod Park from 9am on the 23rd July. A full list of ingredients must be included. Alternatively, donations can also be dropped off the day prior to 12 May Street, Macleod. But the best thing you can do to help is get down to Macleod Park on Sunday July 23rd and purchase some of the wonderful baked goods we’ll have for sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Thursday Girls. Like to know more about the Thursday Girls? Please scan the attached QR code for information and online donations.

Thank You!
